Henry VI (1422-1461), gold Quarter-Noble, 1422-1427, London mint, first reign (1422-1461), single lis above shield, nothing below, large mint marks, m.m. lis/lis. Obv. Small Lis over shield within tressure of eight arcs, small lis after HENRIC. Rev. Floriate cross with leopards at angles, within double tressure of 8 arcs, lis at centre. 1.71g, die axis 5h (S.1810; North 1420; Schneider. 295). A miniscule crimp to flan not detracting from this otherwise handsome coin, evenly struck on a full, round flan, pleasing. Good very fine.
