Henry VIII (1509-1547), gold Half-Sovereign, 1544-1547, London (Tower) mint, third coinage (1544-1547), m.m. pellet in annulet/pellet in annulet. Obv. King facing, seated on high backed throne, holding orb and sceptre, rose below. Rev. Crowned coat or arms, lion to left, dragon to right, panel below. 6.15g, die axis 2h (S.2295; North 1827; Sch. 617/619). Boldly struck for issue with only minimal weakness, the flan full and nicely rounded, lightly toned to the recesses, an attractive coin in hand. Good very fine and rare this nice.
