James II (1685-1688), silver Halfcrown, 1685, first bust, 6 strings to harp, edge PRIMO. Obv. Laureate and draped bust facing left. Rev. Crowned cruciform shields, angles plain, date split by English crown. 14.90g, die axis 6h (S.3408; Bull 748). Weakness at 16 of date, lightly toned with hints of residual lustre. About extremely fine.
