John (1199-1216), silver Penny Mule, London mint, moneyer Fulke, Short Cross coinage, class Vb1/Va2 (mule). Obv. Crowned facing bust within inner circle, holding sceptre. Rev. Voided short cross, quatrefoil in each angle 1.10g, die axis 7h (S.1350C; North 970/968-4). Slightly short of flan and the tone pleasant and somewhat glossy. Good very fine.
