Julius Caesar (48-46 BC), silver Denarius, 47-46 BC, North Africa mint. Obv. Diademed head of Venus facing right. Rev. Aeneas advancing left, holding a palladium and bearing his father Anchises on his shoulder, CAESAR to right. 3.86g, die axis 6h (Sear 1402 (RCV I); Cr 458/1; Syd 1013; RBW 1600). The obverse a fraction off but the reverse perfectly centered, a beautiful cabinet tone with hints of golden iridescent, a sought after type, this example with much eye appeal, desirable this. Extremely fine or near so.
