Julius Caesar, silver Denarius, 47-46 BC. Obv. Diademed head of Venus facing right. Rev. Aeneas advancing left, holding a palladium and bearing his father Anchises on his shoulder, CAESAR to right. 3.67g, die axis 6h (Sear 1402 (RCV I); Cr 458/1; Syd 1013; RBW 1600). Small contact mark on hair and some earthen deposits, otherwise well centered on a large flan with a light tone, a popular type. Good very fine.
