Kenneth Peppiatt (1934-1949), Bank of England, £1, 1948, S39A 734776, Series A – Britannia (Third Period), unthreaded. Obv. Green with Britannia vignette to left, mark of value to right, declaration at centre. Rev. Front of the Bank of England above a spread of acanthus leaves around watermark, vignettes of St. George and Dragon to either side in the style of the sovereign reverse used by Benedetto Pistrucci. (EPM B258; Pick 369a; BYB BE52a). Very, very faint central fold. A bright fresh note. Slabbed and graded by PMG as Choice About Uncirculated 58.
