Macrinus (AD 217-218), silver Denarius, Rome mint. Obv. Laureate and cuirassed bust facing right. Rev. Annona seated facing left, holding corn ears and cornucopiae, modius at feet. 3.14g, die axis 7h (Sear 7343 (RCV II); RIC IV 19; Clay Issue 2; RSC 56). Of excellent quality silver, well centered and well struck on a large flan, only the slightest cabinet friction to the highpoints of the reverse, else as struck, choice and desirable thus. Extremely fine.
