Philip & Mary (1554-1558), silver Shilling, 1554, full titles, dated, with mark of value. Obv. Face-to-face busts, crown above dividing date. Rev. Mark of value divided by crown above oval shield of arms. 6.12g, die axis 4h (S.2500; North 1967). A few minor indentations to centre of obverse and has been cleaned and the fields lightly tooled, having since nicely re-toned, some weakness on Philip’s head and corresponding part of reverse, otherwise very presentable, struck on a full and round flan with a pleasing portrait of Mary. Good very fine.

With old hard written ticket and B.A.Seaby Ltd. envelope.
