The Commonwealth (1649-1660), silver Sixpence, 1649, m.m. sun on obverse only. Obv. Shield within wreath, mintmark above. Rev. Conjoined shields within beaded iner circle, mark of value above below date in legend. 2.95g, die axis 5h (S.3219; Bull 177). Struck on a small flan but still of reasonable weight and with an attractive dark cabinet tone. Good very fine and scarce.
