Victoria (1837-1901), copper Bronzed Proof Farthing, 1839, ‘Young Head’ copper coinage (1838-1860), inverted die axis, edge plain. Obv. Young head facing left, date below. Rev. Britannia seated facing right, emblems in exergue. 4.73g, die axis 6h (S.3950; Peck 1557). A tiny edge mark near I of Victoria and small mark in field near Britannia for completeness, otherwise a sumptuous proof with a delightful blue/brown tone, flashy fields and features with a pleasing cameo effect, a desirable proof. Virtually mint state and very rare with an inverted reverse die axis.

Formerly slabbed and graded by NGC as PF65 BN (now removed from slab) with accompanying slab ticket.
