Victoria (1837-1901), silver Crown, 1844, ‘Young Head’ coinage (1838-1887), Star Stops, edge Lettered. Obv. Young head facing left, date below. Rev. Crowned shield of arms within wreath, emblems below. 28.31g, die axis 6h (S.3882; Bull 2561). A few trivial hairlines and sporadic bag marks otherwise, with a light steely grey tone over flashy, quite brilliant fields, the features crisp and sharp, a choice example with much eye appeal, a difficult coin to find in this condition. Choice about uncirculated and somewhat harshly graded by NGC as MS61.
