Victoria (1837-1901), gold Sovereign, 1857, ‘Young Head’ coinage (1838-1887), WW incuse on truncation, shield on reverse with repositioned legend, edge milled vertically. Obv. Second ‘large’ young head facing left, date below. Rev. Crowned shield of arms within wreath, emblems below. 7.98g, die axis 6h (S.3852D; Marsh 40). A few toning spots to reverse, otherwise, lightly toned although retaining much brilliance. Slabbed and graded by NGC as AU58.
