Victoria (1837-1901), gold Sovereign, 1857, ‘Young Head’ coinage (1838-1887), WW incuse on truncation, shield on reverse with repositioned legend, edge milled vertically. Obv. Second ‘large’ young head facing left, date below. Rev. Crowned shield of arms within wreath, emblems below. 7.98g, die axis 6h (S.3852D). A few lights contact marks, otherwise lightly toned over flashy, brilliant fields. Extremely fine.
