Victoria (1837-1901), gold Half-Sovereign, 1885/3, ‘Young Head’ coinage (1838-1887). Obv. Young head facing left, date below. Rev. Crowned shield of arms (no die number). 3.92g, die axis 6h (S.3861; Marsh 459A). Slightly subdued lustre, in keeping with the grade, however no major knocks, the wear even, a collectable example of this very rare over date. About very fine and rated ‘R4’ by marsh – just eleven to twenty examples estimated known.
