William III (1694-1702), copper Farthing, 1697, first issue, edge plain. Obv. Laureate and cuirassed bust facing right. Rev. Britannia seated facing left, date in exergue. 4.86g, die axis 6h (S.3557; Peck 659). Toned, the fields glossy and shimmering, a choice example and rarely encountered in this grade, with just a single specimen graded a point higher on the NGC register. Practically as struck, slabbed and graded by NGC as MS63 BN.

It is worth noting that an example graded just a point higher at MS64 by NGC, sold in September 2018 for $3,360 (inc. premium).
