William III (1694-1702), silver Halfcrown, 1698, large modified shields and harp, the harp with 7 strings, edge DECIMO. Obv. First laureate and draped bust facing right. Rev. Crowned cruciform shields, Lion of Nassau in centre, angles plain, date split by English crown. Die axis 6h (S.3494; Bull 1034). Some trivial flecking as is common with this issue, otherwise delightfully toned with varying shades of grey, over reflective, lustrous fields, a nice coin. Slabbed and graded by NGC as MS62.
