William III (1694-1702), silver Sixpence, 1698, late harp, large crowns, 8 billets, 4 strings to harp, edge milled diagonally. Obv. Third laureate and draped bust facing right. Rev. Crowned cruciform shields, Lion of Nassau in centre, angles plain, date split by English crown. Die axis 6h (S.3538; Bull 1243). Some minor flecking under magnification, otherwise a delightful example, lightly toned with golden colour highlights, lustrous and well worthy of being ‘Top Pop’. Virtually as struck.
