William III (1694-1702), silver Proof pattern Farthing, 1699, no stop after date, edge plain. Obv. Laureate and cuirassed bust facing right. Rev. Britannia seated facing left, date in legend, blank exergue. 7.16g, die axis 6h (Peck 682). Small, imperceptible mark to cheek, otherwise just the lightest cabinet friction to the high points, beautifully toned with golden-grey hues, an exceptional coin and worthy of the finest Farthing cabinet. Choice virtually mint state and rare.
